The Internet is a wonderful vehicle for exposure. A small business advertised in one of the very well-maintained, and well-organized national web sites such as BizBuySell or Merger Network will be exposed to million of potential buyers. However, for a middle market property there is a chance that confidentiality can be compromised. It is much more prudent to utilize a targeted approach to specific qualified buyers.
